Amanda Adcock Vander Lugt, PHD is a clinical psychologist with experience in assessment and treatment of chronic pain related conditions, substance abuse, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and many other problems in living. She is committed to creating a space for her clients to improve quality of life. 

Dr. Vander Lugt is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to facilitate change toward client’s goals in therapy. She has practiced and trained ACT for over 15 years, and MI for 5. 

She was invited to speak to the South Dakota Psychological Association in 2019 to address the Opioid Epidemic and has presented at national and international conferences. 

She has special interest in rehabilitation of chronic pain using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT, said as one word not letters). She has authored a peer reviewed chapter on this topic, as well as 3 journal articles and 2 other chapters on related behavioral health concepts.

After 14 years of service in the Veteran’s Affairs system of care, she is excited to provide care at Wellspring counseling adults struggling with anxiety, depression, history of trauma, chronic pain or substance abuse.
